2016.02.25 Google Officially Opens “Editions at Play” Store Purely for Web browser
According to the “The Bookseller”, Google (California, USA) has now officially opened its first of a kind web browser based content that is only for the e-book shop “Editions at Play”. This store is being managed by Visual Edition (London, UK), and the books are not meant to be printed out, only read on web browsers, as the store specializes in interactive e-books using GPS and HTML5, fully utilizing the Web features.

Unique UI (User Interface) is being suggested in books that have already been released. One of the first two titles is a love story called “Entrances & Exits” using Google Street View.

In an interview by, Iversen of Visual Edition says, “People like to talk about how physical books have qualities that don’t transfer well to digital. We want to show that digital books can have narrative and visual qualities that champion those of writing but can’t be transferred to print. You wouldn’t really sit and read a novel while at your desktop would you? You’re more likely to curl up on your sofa or armchair and read a book – and you can do that on your phone just as easily as you can with a paperback.”

At Editions at Play, the store will offer such books that are created to draw people in, so that they might spend an hour with a book on their phone.
