2017.03.28 London Book Fair 2017
The 2017 London Book Fair (LBF) is to be held at the Olympia London event venue in West Kensington, London from March 14 to March 16. This year marks the fair’s 46th anniversary. Considered to be the second largest book fair after Frankfurt Book Fair, LBF is also one of the most prominent events in the London Book and Screen Week, scheduled from March 13 to March 19 this year.

Prior to the official opening of LBF, the Monday Conference program ‘The Quantum Conference: Consumer Insight & So Much More’ will be held on March 13 for those serious about the future of their content business in the digital age. This year, global marketing research firm Nielsen will be the keynote presenter and will showcase invaluable data from their Books and Consumers 2016 Survey. Other topics covered are the impact of videos in marketing, how to draw on consumer insight, and making the most of Google and Facebook.

For years, LBF has turned a spotlight on a region or country under the Market Focus initiative. Poland was chosen this year, and various programs are planned to highlight the country’s dynamic publishing industry and to increase awareness of its long-standing literary traditions. Polish authors Olga Tokarczuk, of ‘Flights’, and Andrzej Sapkowski, of the fantasy ‘Witcher Saga’ novels which became the inspiration for the bestselling computer game series ‘The Witcher’, are featured respectively as 'Market Focus Author of the Day' and 'Cross Media Author of the Day'.

LBF also offers the chance for publisher delegations to attend the MIPCOM and MIP Junior events in October in Cannes, France. At these premier Film and TV rights and preview events, LBF has organised a program of networking and promotional opportunities, sure to interest anyone dealing in the ever-growing content market for Children/Youth.
