2017.09.21 ‘Frankfurt Rights Meeting’ to focus on Asian licensing
The 31st Frankfurt Rights Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. The meeting this year will focus on ‘Asian licensing, social media, and the burgeoning audiobook market’, according to Publishing Perspectives. This ‘Book Fair Tuesday’ will be held on the night before the opening of Frankfurt Book Fair, and is an opportunity for those in the industry to share information and develop their international networks.

Three recent, relevant issues will be the focus of the event; the audio market, the Japanese licensing business, and the impact of social media on the rights trade. From Japan, Manami Tamaoki of Tuttle-Mori Agency will be the speaker for the presentation, ‘The Japanese licensing business: What’s selling in Japan? What isn’t?’ There will also be a related panel discussion where moderator Lance Fitzgerald, of Crown Publishing (US), will speak with Japanese editors. As a first this year, a question-and-answer session will follow the presentations, allowing for additional discussion and networking.

It sounds like a great occasion to share one’s views on the issues related to today’s publishing industry.
