2018.10.11 UK the first to offer subscriptions on books for "heart health" for women
According to America's leading bookstore chain, Barnes & Noble, sales of books related to anxiety relief have increased by 26% year on year. From the data it seems that consumers are attracted workbooks and tool-kits designed to help them cope with stress caused by anxiety. Amidst such trends, in the UK, a service to deliver self-help books was initiated on a monthly basis to women seeking help for anxiety. Forbes made the announcement on 14th August.

The service is called "Wildwoman". Founder Donna Louise Hay herself admitted that she was saved by reading books in her most painful moments. The experience of telling the people around my about my positive change after reading and the fact that the same good change would happen with them was the starting point for this service. According to a survey conducted by WILDWOMAN, one in six people have experienced mental illness, and four in ten feel that they can not care for themselves, and that this demand for the service was likely to increase in the future, according to Hay.

Hay attributes the raise in self-help book sales as being not only due to the growing demand for people seeking answers to their anxiety, but also because people are becoming more open in talking about their feelings and comments that she herself has become less hesitant in expressing her need for help.

The monthly WILDWOMAN package will include a gift relative to the book's contents as well as the book itself. The monthly subscription fee is 28.50 pounds, and applications from outside the UK are also accepted. Hay is also planning to hold meet-ups for women around the world based on WILDWOMAN's predecessor, "GozenGirls" as a book club in which woman can discuss the books.
