2019.04.30 "Harry Potter" in Hawaiian Language
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” has added Hawaiian version in late 2018, translated by Richard Keao NeSmith, a faculty member at the University of Hawaii at Manoa who teaches Tahitian language course. The addition became the 65th translation of the fake swiss breitling watches book, or 79th, depending on whom you ask.

Even the Bloomsbury, the book’s publisher, has no ‘official’ list of exactly how many different languages the book has been translated into, simply because the definition of “language” is rather complicated and a single ‘language’ might contain multiple mutually intelligible languages with different writing systems which come with the complex of politics of the region. For example, There is European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. Are they two different languages or one? This affects the books official language count. Even in English, we know that the book has two editions: British (“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”) and American (“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone”). The title had been altered to adapt to the subtle differences between two English languages. Japanese edition took to the translated word that is close to “Philosopher.”

Some readers might find it interesting that there is Latin and Ancient Greek edition of “Harry Potter” in the collection. NeSmith says that he translated the book into Hawaii for purely academic interests. For NeSmith, this project was an exercise that engages the swiss replica watches integration, comparison and contrasting of cultures and languages. These different editions indeed enable readers all over the world to enjoy the world of Harry Potter.
